Workbench is a Decorations that can be Crafted as part of the Safehouse Customization feature. In order to be created, it needs to be crafted with a Workbench Vice found by harvesting a regular Work Bench.
There are currently 49 Work Benches found in the game, producing a limited amount of Vices to prevent the player from easily making infinite Work Benches.

Uses[]
Most players will want to have a workbench inside their Safehouse, and will likely want to add one if there isn't one already present. Common locations where players might want to harvest workbench vises from are locations that have multiple workbenches, such as Carter Hydro Dam (3 benches), Quonset Garage (2 benches), the Headframe Building (2 benches), Indolent Hoppers (3 benches), and the Langston Mine (2 benches).
Additionally, players may wish to disassemble workbenches located in inconvenient places, such as the Workshop, Cinder Hills Coal Mine, Abandoned Mine No. 3 and No. 5, Prepper's Abandoned Cache (to avoid loss at the end of Sutherland's Tale), and the Gold Mine, to place them somewhere more desirable.
Common safehouse locations where players might want to build workbenches include:
- Community Hall, Pleasant Valley
- The Prepper Cache in Hushed River Valley of ot does mot spawn as the Hunting Cache (especially useful if players don't have Tales from the Far Territory, as Bunker Gamma won't be present)
- Lonely Lighthouse, Desolation Point
- Jackrabbit Island and Misanthrope's Homestead, Coastal Highway
- Pensive Lookout, the Cabin, Cannery Worker Residences, or even Last Resort Cannery's breakroom or trailer, Bleak Inlet
- Milton House (Grey Mother's) and Orca Gas Station, Mountain Town
- Idle Camp, Zone of Contamination
- Mindful Cabin, Forsaken Airfield
- Power Plant, Blackrock
It is not possible to build a work bench in a cave, regardless of whether or not it has an interior. Additionally, player-built workbenches can't be built outdoors to fight cabin fever.

The Workbench will always be made of wood. A metal version is not available.
