The Wolfskin Hat is a type of headgear that can be Crafted in The Long Dark.
Overview[]
The Blueprint for crafting this hat must first be obtained by trading for the Wolfskin Hat Blueprint Card from the Trader.
Only 1 Wolfskin Hat can be worn at a time, specifically in the outer head slot.
It is the second warmest headgear item in the game, next to the Cougar Hide Wrap.
- It cannot be crafted without the Blueprint first, whereas a Cougar will spawn after enough time passes (if enabled).
- The trade off is that once the Blueprint is obtained however, it is far easier to slay a single Wolf (or find a Ravaged Wolf Carcass) for a pelt than a Cougar for its pelt.
- if Cougars are disabled (or if playing on Pilgrim) the Wolfskin Hat is the warmest Hat that can be worn.

Jeremiah can be seen wearing a Wolfskin Hat in his concept art as well as the end of Episode 1: Do Not Go Gentle, 6 years before the Wolfskin Hat was even introduced into Survival Mode.
