Warding off Wolves[]
Deathdealers747Vx (talk) 09:47, 22 February 2024 (UTC) As of 2.27 on Steam Windows 10 Version, you cannot drop a piece of meat to use as a decoy to distract a wolf (I tried doing so manually). In addition, most of the storyline requires unlock pre-requisites, such as, the ability to use Standard Flares to ward off wolves - you need to reach the point in the storyline before this option can be available. The Distress Pistol is the most effective means of warding off wolves; however, you can kill the wolves as soon as you acquire the Hunting Rifle. Make sure to save all pelts and guts as their crafting unlocks become available when you discover the survival school books.
Starting the Forge at the Maintenance Yard in Broken Railroad for the Main Mission[]
Deathdealers747Vx (talk) 06:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC) Please, don't be an idiot like me and run around trying to collect all the firewood prior to starting the forge. Collecting Cloth and Scrap Metal is a good thing, but once you start the forge fire and gain +1 Degree (F) benefit, then it'll immediately increase the temperature to 306 Degrees Fahrenheit and show the "Infinite" symbol to indicate that the fire will never die. The coal near the forge is just a prop to confuse you and give you bonus resources.
