Tales are narrative-based objectives in the Tales from the Far Territory DLC for Survival Mode.
They are not to be confused with the short, self-contained Challenge scenarios that can be selected in the Survival menu.
Triggering a Tale within Survival Mode will cause a new submenu in the Survival Menu to appear (flag shaped tab). Similar to the mission objectives menu in Wintermute, this menu keeps track of all current tasks related to a Tale.
During the Course of the update, a total of 3 Tales will be added to the game. A bonus 4th Tale was added in Part 6, but has its own method to track objectives.
As of update V2.27, all Tales become active and can be completed out of order once the Handheld Shortwave Radio is acquired in a playthrough, as long that Tale has been previously completed on another playthrough and its associated Badge is acquired. This requires each Tale to be completed in the original order at least once first.

Repair Transmitters and use your newly acquired Handheld Shortwave Radio in order to track down mysterious radio transmissions and buried supply caches across Great Bear Island, and possibly uncover something more sinister along the way.
Buried Echoes[]

Continue investigating the mysterious events surrounding Dr. Rüdiger and his mysterious project in the abandoned Langston Mine complex in the Zone of Contamination.
Last Horizon[]

Dr. Rüdiger escaped from the Langston Mine, track down where he could have gone in the nearby Sundered Pass.

- Completing a Tale will unlock a unique Badge per Tale. Completing all 3 Tales will unlock 2 unique Feats.
- Signal Void was released on March 30th, 2023, alongside Part Two of the expansion pass.
- Buried Echoes was released on Dec 5th, 2023, alongside Part Four of the expansion pass.
- Last Horizon was released on June 24th, 2024, alongside Part Five of the expansion pass.
- Sutherland's Tale was released on December 2nd, 2024, alongside Part Six of the expansion pass.
