A Salt Deposit is a harvestable interactable object found along Coastal Regions.
Overview[]
Most tools can be used to scrap Salt from Salt Deposits, despite the tooless warning message saying it requires a Hatchet. These include any Hunting Knife (or variant), Hatchet (Improvised Hatchet), Prybar, or Heavy Hammer. The Hacksaw will not work. Tool condition does not degrade when harvesting Salt Deposits.
Each Salt Deposit is composed of several small interactable deposits which each produces 2 Salt (0.25kg) when harvested. They can be useful for keeping a Meat Curing Box topped off with large amounts of Salt or for preparing Cooking Recipes.
Deposits refill every 20 days.

They are mostly found in Coastal Regions along rocky wall surfaces near the sea, but can sometimes be found inside caves:
