Pensive Pond is a small recreational pond in the hills of Pleasant Valley.

Overview

Picnickers can enjoy canoeing and, when sunny, sit under the gazebo. A hut with a fishing hole and pot-belly stove sits at the center of the pond. Importantly, the fishing hut also has a door, making it a decent temporary shelter. For players with sufficiently-warm clothing and a bedroll, the hut's relatively easy access to animals and firewood means it could serve as a base for multi-day hunting & fishing "retreats" to fight cabin fever.

Be careful of the surrounding cliffs and prowling predators in low-visibility conditions. There's a chance of the revolver spawning inside the fishing hut.

A Cougar spawns just east of here, which can pose a danger to players carrying large amounts of freshly-caught fish back to their main base. However, brave players may choose to try hunting the Cougar, using the fishing hut for protection.

Location

Pensive Pond can be found easily from Pleasant Valley Farmstead. Standing at the round silo on the farmstead, turn to face Heartbreak Bridge. Cliffs can be seen in the background, on top of which Pensive Pond can be found. Following Lower Falls and climbing up carefully, some shelter, fishing or a picnic can be had.
