Miner's Flashlight

Miner's Flashlight is a variant of the Flashlight in The Long Dark, added by the Tales from the Far Territory expansion.

Overview[]

The Miner's Flashlight is a yellow, heavy duty electrical torch that has a larger, longer lasting battery than the regular Flashlight, but at the expense of being 0.25 kg heavier. While a 100% charged Miner's Flashlight lasts for up to 1,5 hours of continuous use (50% more than the regular Flashlight), the high beam mode lasts the same 25 seconds.

Unlike other item variants, multiple Miner's Flashlights may spawn (on Pilgrim, Voyageur and Stalker) making it the second variant which is not unique, the other one being the Sport Bow.

Miner's Flashlight was added in Tales from the Far Territory update Part 3: "Frontier Comforts".

Location[]

The Miner's Flashlight spawns a single time per world in various states of repair. The flashlight's location may differ between saves, but it is found within:

Far Range Branch Line[]

It can be found in 3 locations within the Far Range Branch Line:

Inside the boxcars located just after Steely Chasm and near Remnant Cave, behind a Metal Container
Inside the Train Shuttle on Surfeit Trestle
On a shelf in the south train tunnel office.

Zone of Contamination[]

It is also located in the Zone of Contamination, inside the Concentrator in a control room overlooking 2 large vats. It can be reached by walking further up the facility, jumping into a hopper, and then following the pipes to bypass a broken catwalk. This location will always spawn a Miner's Flashlight (except on Interloper).

It is possible to have 2 versions of this item spawn on one playthrough.
