Ketchup Chip is a packaged food item in The Long Dark.
Overview[]
Consuming Ketchup Chips provides up to 300 calories of energy, at the cost of minor dehydration. They are relatively common and weigh a mere 0.10 kg, making its energy density a high 3,000 calories-per-kilogram.
Ketchup Chips do not cause Food Poisoning above 20% condition and decay more slowly when stored outdoors, like other non-canned foods.
Trivia[]
- Ketchup Chips were first introduced for the limited time "Winter's Embrace" event (June 29th - July 31st, 2020), along with Maple Syrup.
- During the event, eating 25 Ketchup Chips and 25 Maple Syrup, awarded the "Canadian Feast Badge".
- The Ketchup Chips is packaged as a product called "Chips", with a picture of a ketchup bottle branded "K" in front of an image of potato chips.
- The ketchup bottle looks superficially like the glass bottles used by Heinz brand of ketchup, which for years was made in Leamington, Ontario.
- Ketchup Chips are readily available in Canada, but almost unheard of in most other countries.
