Katie's Secluded Corner is a location in Desolation Point.
Overview[]
Katie's Secluded Corner is located south of the Blocked Highway. It can be located by leaving the road before the Blocked Highway--roughly across the road from the entrance to Abandoned Mine No. 5--and walking around the boulders on the ice until you see the path leading between the large rocks ahead of you.
While the area is relatively safe, high winds can blow out campfires and leave the player exposed to the cold, and a prowling wolf may sometimes wander into the sheltered corner. Due to its secluded nature and the path leading there being somewhat hard to find, it can be easy for new players to overlook. A Memento Hint pointing out this location can be found behind the visor of a truck near the entrance of Hibernia Processing.
Possible Items[]
Most of the items will be located next to a burnt-out campfire, these include a Survival Bow, Research Book and a Deer Carcass. However, near the cliff face, is where a Frozen Corpse may reside (possibly the eponymous Katie) along with a possible Hatchet.
Nearby is a grove of Rabbits, which can wander down the hill, and attract wolves, so be cautious when traversing.
Trivia[]
- The location is named after Katie Sorrell, who designed every region of Great Bear Island other than Coastal Highway and Mystery Lake.
- In 2022, Katie took over from Rapheal van Lierop as head game designer, but shortly thereafter, Rapheal resumed control again.
