Harvesting carcasses[edit | edit source]
The Hunting Knife can be used to harvest animal carcasses at an accelerated rate. If the carcass is less than 50% frozen, the Hunting Knife is the most efficient tool for harvesting; if the carcass is more than 50% frozen, hatchets are more efficient for harvesting meat, but the Hunting Knife is more efficient for harvesting Fresh Guts and hide.
Repair[edit | edit source]
The Hunting Knife can only be repaired using a Whetstone as part of Bladed Tool Maintenance and requires no other material input. When used the Whetstone will lose 5% condition per action and restore 3% of Hunting Knife condition. Since Whetstones are a finite and non-renewable resource, eventually Improvised Knives will be needed.
Combat[edit | edit source]
The Hunting Knife can be selected weapon as a weapon during Wolf Struggles. When used in this way, the Hunting Knives has a high chance of causing Blood Loss to the Wolf, which will eventually kill it. After a Struggle it was used in the Hunting Knife will lose Condition.
