Risk[]
“ | Your skin is directly exposed to the cold. If it remains exposed for long enough, you'll get Frostbite. In-game description
|
” |
Frostbite risk is incurred when a player's (unclothed) skin is exposed to freezing conditions, particularly with severe windchill. Any part of the body (except the face, despite the fact that only a couple clothing items cover the face) can be at risk of frostbite.
Staying in feels-like temperatures above freezing or covering the exposed skin are the only ways to eliminate frostbite risk. Frostbite risk can take a substantial amount of time to recover from, so be prepared to remain in warmer conditions for extended periods to fully eliminate immediate risk.
Process[]
The player staying too long in the cold, will see their level of heat (see needs for more info) drop, as long as the temperature felt is below 0 °. The player will then see a "risk of hypothermia" appearing with a yellow bar, then a red "hypothermia" bar, which will directly attack the player’s physical condition. In case of snow or storm, there will be a "frostbite" bar which will also appear at this time and will rise more or less slowly depending on the temperature felt and the number of frozen clothes.
Affliction[]
“ | You have sustained frostbite. Your general condition is permanently reduced. - Ingame description
|
” |
Frostbite is caused by wearing frozen clothing for an extended period of time, or by having warmth lowered to freezing level with part of the body exposed (not wearing clothing). Each instance of frostbite reduces your maximum condition level by 10%.
- Frostbite is currently the only affliction to have no cure. Players should take care to pay attention to their 'frostbite risk,' so that frostbite can be prevented
- A player can only receive frostbite for 5 body parts, however you can get multiple frostbites for every body part, resulting in a death.
