Forge Blueprints (mission) was a side mission of the Predux Episode 2: Luminance Fugue of the Wintermute story and the last mission in the Predux storyline. It has since been replaced after the V1.47 Wintermute Redux version of the game, but is still playable to those that download versions V1.15, V1.30, or V1.37 of Steam version of The Long Dark by using the Time Capsule.
This mission was cut from the game, with Forge blueprints being available from the start, and the Forge being used to craft a new Spear Head for the Bear Spear.
You will first need to raise Jeremiah's Trust to 75 and select the Survival Tools dialogue option. Jeremiah will comment that Mackenzie will need better tools to survive alone out on the Island, and will redirect him to an old Forge near Old Spence Family Homestead.
Hunting Knives and Hatchets are also far more plentiful throughout Episode 1 and 2 in the Redux, with Hunting Knives being entirely absent in both Predux Episodes (until acquiring Jeremiah's Knife).
