Overview[]
A Cougar Quarter is a section harvested from a Cougar. You can obtain Cougar quarters by quartering a Cougar Carcass. To quarter an animal, you have to go into the harvest menu, then select the quartering action. For a Cougar, this will always take 2 hours. You can only quarter a Cougar if its less than 50% frozen.
After quartering, the carcass will despawn, leaving behind 2 quarters, as well as its Fresh Gut and Cougar Hide. It will also leave behind the Cougar's legs and blood, but this cannot be picked up, and it will soon despawn.
Unlike directly harvesting a fresh carcass' meat, you will still need to harvest a quarter for its meat. 50% of the quarters total weight will be turned into usable Cougar Meat (Raw). Any remaining raw meat left inside the bag will be lost if the Quarter's Condition reaches 0%, with bags spoiling within 1 day of harvesting.
