Coastal Fishcakes is a food item in The Long Dark, it is learned from a unique Recipe Card and is made with a Cooking Skillet.
Overview[]
Coastal Fishcakes can be unlocked for cooking by finding their Recipe Card In the Lonely Lighthouse in Desolation Point in one of three locations: in the upper-left corner of the tack board, underneath the 3 metal cabinets, or on the stairs leading up to the top of the lighthouse.
Although Coastal Fishcakes are not the most calorie-dense food out there, their effects of increased stamina and carrying capacity can be exceptionally useful for players who need to do a lot of rope climbing. The two potatoes required to cook this are also fairly easy to find in most regions. The one disadvantage is that rainbow trout is not obtainable on any inland maps, which are often the ones that require the most rope climbing. Additionally, both the pies and the fish needed to cook them do not keep especially well.
