Chemical Poisoning is a disease Affliction mainly encountered in the Zone of Contamination region of Great Bear Island once Chemical Poisoning Risk is fully enveloped. It was added in the Part 4 Buried Echoes update for the Tales from the Far Territory addon.
Affliction[]
Being Afflicted with Chemical Poisoning immediately reduces the player's max Condition to 80% (similar to Burns, but Condition lost is -20% instead of -25%).
This Affliction can be purged immediately by using an Emergency Stim to flush the body of toxins, or by waiting 72 hours for the disease to pass. Unlike other regions, Stims are quite plentiful in the Zone of Contamination, with many being found inside the Langston Mine.
A side effect of contracting Chemical Poisoning is that the player will lose the Well Fed bonus, along with the Condition bonus it provides, even if the player's calorie store is above 0.
Cumulative Afflictions[]
Unlike Burns, it is possible to have multiple stacks of Chemical Poisoning, causing even more Condition reduction to occur if not treated. The player can have up to 4 different Chemical Poisoning Afflictions (minus 20% Condition each time), with a 5th killing the player.
Using an Emergency Stim will only clear 1 Chemical Poisoning Affliction if multiple are acquired.
