Cat Tail Stalks are a food item in The Long Dark, obtained by harvesting Cat Tail plants.
General Information[]
The edible stalk of a Cat Tail plant. They can be found growing on the shores of swamps, lakes, rivers or ponds. Cat Tail Stalks are the only food item which can stack in the inventory or containers; they are also efficient in calories-to-weight, making them useful when traveling or exploring.
Cat Tails can be found in all regions, but are especially abundant in Forlorn Muskeg, Hushed River Valley, Mountain Town and Ash Canyon. Each plant will always contains 1 stalk and one Cat Tail Head (which is used as tinder).
Cat tail stalks have no condition, thus can never Decay or become ruined, and eating them can never cause Food Poisoning.
Like all other plants, Cat Tails do not regrow once harvested.
