Suffering from Blood Loss is a life threatening affliction and will eventually kill the player if left untreated. Condition will be lost at a rate of 30% per hour and blood drops will fall wherever the character walks. Active Blood Loss will always maximize the Scent meter, quickly drawing other predators to your location.
Blood Loss from predator Struggles is always paired with an Infection Risk, while Blood Loss from falling off a Mountaineering Rope is not. Infection is treated as a separate but equally dangerous affliction.
- Blood Loss is often accompanied by Sprained Wrist, or Sprained Wrist. Always make treating Blood Loss your priority if you can to avoid bleeding out.
- Blood Loss can be treated by applying a Bandage. As of the "Faithful Cartographer" update, Old Man's Beard Wound Dressing will only treat Infection, it can no longer be used as a bandage.
- Blood Loss will remain in effect until death or it is treated.
- It is possible to suffer from multiple instances of Blood Loss as a result of multiple attacks or even a single wolf attack. The effects are cumulative and each instance has to be treated separately.
- Blood Loss will draw predators to the player through the Scent of fresh blood, and gives maximum Scent value. Treating the Blood Loss will remove this odor.
- Infection Risk is always paired with Blood Loss, so use Old Man's Beard Wound Dressing or Antiseptic to heal it before it develops into an Infection.
